What is the lead time?
Standard Houstonian Awnings typically ship within 3 business days. Actual transit and delivery times depend on your location and the shipping carrier.
What materials is it made from?
The Houstonian Awning features a commercial-grade, powder-coated metal frame with standing-seam roof panels and enclosed sides.
It is available in two material options:
- Galvanized Steel: A strong, durable metal option designed for exterior applications.
- Aluminum: A corrosion-resistant option well suited for coastal locations and high-humidity environments.
Available materials and finishes depend on your selected configuration.
Can you customize a single unit or a small batch to be longer?
Awntech does not offer custom lengths for individual Houstonian units or small-quantity orders.
However, the modular design allows multiple awnings to be installed side by side, creating extended coverage across windows, entrances, or commercial storefronts.

Does it work in the rain?

No. The Houstonian Awning ships as a modular system consisting of metal panels and frame sections.
Its non-welded construction allows the components to be assembled using standard tools, without professional metal fabrication.
Does it include a middle support arm?
Yes. Houstonian Awnings in the 5 ft to 8 ft width range include a center support projection arm for additional structural stability.
Support configurations vary depending on the awning width.
Are custom sizes or large-volume orders available?
Yes. Awntech offers custom project configurations and bulk orders, including quantities of 100 or more units.

What surfaces can it be mounted to?
The Houstonian Awning can be installed on common exterior surfaces such as brick, stucco, siding, and wood, provided adequate structural backing is available.
Important: Mounting anchors are not included. Appropriate anchors must be selected based on the wall material and supporting structure.
How difficult is installation?
Most standard Houstonian units can be assembled and installed in approximately 1–2 hours by two handy people.
