The California awning is our medium-duty standard patio retractable awning. The design and operational use is simple and recognized for its affordability. The retractable is fully assembled and includes a standard manual operation controlled by a rocker arm/hand crank. The awning does not include a cassette or a hood. This was specifically designed for the purpose of showing off the qualities and mechanisms of the awning as it operates. The framework includes a heavy-duty steel and aluminum white powder-coated frame. It retracts and expands with multi chambered, stainless steel, and dual-cabled lateral projection arms.

I honestly bought this because our patio gets brutally sunny in the afternoon, and I was tired of giving up on the space during those hours. Once it was up, the difference was immediate, especially when we wanted to sit outside for lunch or have a drink without constantly looking for shade. I like that the fabric feels sturdy while still looking clean and simple against the house. Now that we have it, I keep wondering why we waited so long to make better use of that part of the patio.
